| | I found myself on a stone balcony overlooking a crowd of anti-Proposition 8 protesters. I and my friend Lauren stood at the edge, crying and praying over them, hands outstretched.
The angry protesters all turned around, and upon seeing us, started yelling curses, threats and insults and shaking their fists at us. But we closed our eyes and kept praying for them as passionately as we could.
Then, randomly, suddenly, they began to disperse, running hurriedly in all directions.
After a few minutes, a teenage girl was left standing still in the midst of the dispersing crowd. She stood looking up at me and Lauren, her lips moving as she joined us in prayer. She then called my name and spoke to me in a strange tongue that I somehow understood, saying,
"The Lord is raising up a new nation."
Then I woke up.
And there it was, my fifth or sixth dream about Prop. 8 in a span of six months. It makes me wonder what role God wants me to play in a socio-political issue that is tearing apart the church, the concept of family, society and my own heart.
